SMOKE Regression Tool
This utility automates creation of regression plots from Smkreport output files using a graphical user interface, reducing the need to use Microsoft Excel.
Usage
Program executable for Windows (zip archive)
Download and unpack the program archive. Double-click the executable file to start the program.
Non-Windows users: The SMOKE Regression Tool is written in Python and uses the wxPython library. It was developed under MacOSX and should work under other flavors of UNIX. Please email me for further information.
Features
- Reads data directly from Smkreport output files
- Automatically displays matching pollutants from report files
- Handles speciated and unspeciated pollutants
- Can save plots in several file formats including .bmp and .jpg
- Displays r-squared value and equation of the regression line in the plot legend
- Interactive plot allows you to click on a point and get identifying information such as state, county, or SCC and total emissions
Limitations
- Limited ability to customize data markers, scales, titles, and legend of plots
- Can't handle reports that include stack parameters or plant names that include semi-colons
- Can't handle reports that only have one data point
- Doesn't handle mismatched data, i.e. comparing reports by state to reports by county
- Doesn't have scripting capabilities
